A Few Words

“What really knocks me out is a book that, when you’re all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it. That doesn’t happen much, though.”

J.D. SalingerJ.D. Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye

Good Day, Friends and Readers, and welcome to my weekly blog, A Few Words.

Each week, expect a quote from a writer and my few words about it. The quote I’ve selected today reminds me that Holden Caulfield, the intriguing hero of Salinger’s iconic novel, THE CATCHER IN THE RYE, sought human connection, albeit awkwardly at best, in every pivotal scene in Salinger’s novel. I’m someone Holden might have called. I’m eager to hear from you, as well.

If you’re so inclined, comment about what you like to read, any character who has attracted and sticks with you, what you might like me to consider writing after the Orla Paints Series wraps up. I promise to answer you.

In the meanwhile, all best,

Mary
